If you already have paving stones or are thinking about installing a driveway or walkway of paving stones, Shore Design Landscaping can help you when it’s time to restore your pavers. Restoring your paving stones means sealing them to enhance the original color and also provide a shiny, wet appearance if desired. Sealing your paving stone also has many preventative benefits: a sealer protects your pavers against dirt and oil to make cleaning easier down the road and it helps to reduce the chance that the sand joint between pavers will be washed away by rain or that weeds will have the chance to grow between the joints.
If you have new paving stones, you will need to wait at least 60 days before having them sealed, but if you already have paving stones and their color is starting to fade, it’s time to restore them. Typically applications of paving sealer last two to four years, but this can change depending on how long your pavers seem to last. With rough winters and the wear and tear from snow plowing and shoveling, pavers can get worn down quicker so you might want to seal your pavers closer to every two years.
